Hachette Childrens Group have announced the launch of a new digital initiative aimed at primary schools, Giving Children Books.
Giving Children Books provides schools with a unique way to crowd-source funding for the books they need for their school library or classroom. It takes just five minutes to set up an appeal, choose from a wide range of pre-selected packs tailored to curriculum or reading for pleasure needs and publish the appeal on the Giving Children Books site. The appeal for funding is promoted by sharing via email or social media. The preselected packs include popular brands such as Charlie and Lola, Horrid Henry, How to Train Your Dragon, Enid Blyton, Rainbow Magic and Beast Quest.
Hilary Murray Hill, CEO, Hachette Children’s Group said “There is increasing pressure on school budgets and we felt that there was a real need for Hachette to respond in a practical way. The site acts like a gift list and will connect schools directly to donors: it is perfect for PTAs, parent gifting and fundraising.”
