Marcus Sedgwick wins North East Teenage Book Award

 350 students, parents, teachers and librarians were present to celebrate Marcus Sedgwick winning the North East Teenage Book Award on Friday.  His book The Foreshadowing (Orion) narrowly beat Candy by Kevin Brooks as the teenagers' favourite.

Marcus Sedgwick has worked in children's publishing for ten years and before that he was a bookseller. He is also a stone carver and wood engraver and illustrates all his novels.   Marcus lives in Sussex and has a young daughter, Alice.
