Generation Green is an education programme run by British Gas for school children aged 7 -14. Teaching resources have been created by educational specialists for KS2 and 3 pupils to inspire and engage pupils to become energy aware. Suitable for the new 2014 science and geography curriculum, these resources aim to help teachers educate pupils on where energy comes from and the need for more sustainable energy sources in the future.
Generation Green is giving schools the opportunity to enter an Energy Performance competition and schools stand the chance to win an energy makeover worth up to £150,000. The competition challenges pupils to design an eco-home of the future which is powered by innovative and sustainable energy sources. A shortlist of entries will be invited to Westfield, London, to take part in a dance-off hosted by Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely from Diversity. The dance-off, which will take place in June, will be a fun way for pupils to choreograph and perform a routine which characterises different energy types.
