WEBINAR: Delivering Health Literacy training to 16-18 year olds
Last autumn the Library and Knowledge Services teams at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and Berkshire Healthcare began a pilot Health Literacy project to support the health and wellbeing of 16 – 18 year olds. Working with several schools in Berkshire they carried out an initial survey and user journey mapping to understanding how young people aged 16-18 currently access health information. This was followed by an online portal to enable young people to be signposted to relevant resources to make good health decisions. As the pilot project reaches its conclusion they want to provide a lasting legacy of the training which can be delivered by school librarians, PHSE tutors and school staff to other young people more widely within schools and further education colleges.
CILIP SLG are delighted to offer members the opportunity to sample the training, learn more about the supporting teaching packs and share their feedback to help finalise the training package. This online webinar, from 3 - 5pm on Tuesday 3 August, will be run by Alison Horner Le Riche (Library and Knowledge Services Manager, Royal Berkshire NHSFT) and Barbara Moye (Library and Knowledge Services Manager, Berkshire Healthcare NHS FT). It is a two hour session from 3 - 5 pm.
We would love for you to join us. Please contact Barbara Band for more details.
