We are grateful to Renaissance Learning for funding 3 places for the full two days specifically for furloughed SLA members.
COVID-19 prompted the SLA to move their weekend course online; it's now taking place over two days, with much of the same content, and delegates will also get access to a recording of the day's activities.
Recognising the challenge that furloughed workers have in being unable to support their community at this time, Renaissance Learning have decided to fund 3 two-day places at the Virtual Weekend Course for SLA members, giving them a chance to network and undertake some CPD without worrying about how (or if) they will be reimbursed.
Gareth Andrews from Renaissance Learning said: “During these unprecedented and uncertain times, the opportunities for reading and learning presented by digital education are more important than ever. That is why, as long-standing champions of librarians, Renaissance is very happy to help more SLA members attend this course.”
We are very pleased to be able to offer these places, which will ensure that as many people as possible can access the virtual weekend course. Speakers include speakers Baasit Siddiqui, Professor Stephen Heppell, Professor Julian McDougall, Lucy Powrie, Dr Neelam Parmar and Lucas Maxwell. More information about the weekend course is available here.
The places will be be awarded at random to those that apply before noon on 29th May 2020. Apply here: https://airtable.com/shr9hodnbLKVbvzjd
