SLA Owls return

09 July 2020 Share

The wonderful Owl postcards created by SLA President Chris Riddell are now available for a limited run.

After an amazing talk from Chris Riddell at the AGM where we learnt about the inspiration behind the SLA Owls, we're pleased to say they are coming home to roost, but may not be around for long.

There are 10 postcards in a set, each of which explores a benefit of the school library. They are outline drawings, done in Chris' distinctive style. More details about the Owls, and purchase information, can be seen here (on the Publications page).

We have added an extra 50p per postcard - this is in support of Farms for City Children - a charity set up by Clare and Michael Morpurgo to allow children to experience farms and nature. It's been going since 1976 but, as with many charities during this period, is struggling due to the range of impact from the pandemic. The charity faces an uncertain future, but we get through challenges by working together, and experiencing nature is an essential part of growing up - for mental health, for understanding where our food comes from, and for understanding the challenges the planet faces at the moment, so we hope you'll join with us in supporting them.
