New Museum for school visits

03 September 2020 Share

News of a brand new schools' programme of the UK’s biggest new museum,

The Box in Plymouth is opening to the public on 29th September 2020.

From the life of prehistoric mammals (The Box’s natural history collection features a full-size woolly mammoth!), to Ancient Egyptian culture, and from the Spanish Armada to the iconic ship the Mayflower, whose journey across the Atlantic 400 years ago is being commemorated this month.

The Box’s exceptional education programme has something for students of all ages and stages. There’s even a STEAMpunk escape room designed to challenge students’ ingenuity!

Created with teachers and educators across the country, and inspired by The Box’s remarkable collection of over two million artefacts, the education programme features onsite workshops, artist-facilitated learning, take-away loan boxes, online resources and virtual sessions, offering a rich variety of creative learning experiences across the curriculum.
