The Reading Agency recently announced the new Reading Well for teens booklist, which will launch in England and Wales on 10th October 2022 during World Mental Health Day.

Reading Well for teens?will?support the mental health and wellbeing of teenagers, providing?information, advice and support to help teens better understand their feelings, handle difficult experiences and boost confidence. The list has been developed as an update to the 2016 Reading Well for Young People (“Shelf Help”) list and is focused on supporting teens mental health and wellbeing in a post-pandemic context.

You can still pre-order your promotional materials by 5th August to guarantee delivery before the launch. Any orders placed after 5th August will be distributed as soon as possible, but we're unable to guarantee delivery in time for 10th October.

The overview of titles and a spreadsheet containing ISBNs and format availability are all available to download using these links. Please note that the booklist is strictly embargoed prior to the launch on 10th October 2022 and should not be shared publicly.

We are currently working on plans for the launch and developing supporting?digital resources?for the booklist which will be made available to libraries as soon as possible. These will include:

• Case for support

• Commissioning resources

• FAQs

• Interactive user leaflet

• Social media artwork and images

• Plasma screen artwork

• Template letter for library staff to send to health professionals?

See how you can get involved with the scheme in your local area by getting in touch with your local library. We really hope that the new list will be a useful resource, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any further queries.
