Recognise teachers, reading champions and schools whose practices make a real difference to children’s Reading for Pleasure.
In partnership with The Open University and UK Literacy Association, Egmont Publishing's Reading for Pleasure Awards aims to recognise teachers, reading champions and schools whose practices make a real difference to RfP.
Now in their fourth year, the awards have five categories: Early Career Teacher, Experienced Teacher, Whole School Award and School Reading Champion and Community Reading Champion. The winner of each category will receive Egmont books to the value of £250 for their school, and there are 20 copies of Help Your Child Love Reading by Alison David to be won.
These awards are a great way to celebrate the hard work and monumental achievements of schools and their staff, especially in face of the many challenges brought about by COVID and recent lockdowns.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 9th May 2021, and the winners will be announced on 26th June 2021 at the OU/UKLA Reading for Pleasure conference, Cambridge (or online).
More information on how to nominate yourself or others, including application tips from the judges, can be found here.
