Our course Great Library .... but where is everyone?, run by Susan Staniforth, will be held at Old Palace of John Whitgift Preparatory School, Melville Avenue, South Croydon, Greater London, CR2 7YN on 28 November 2017.

This course will be invaluable for anyone working in a primary or secondary school who wishes to promote their school library and is looking for ways to engage with pupils and teaching staff to encourage them to use it. During the day delegates will be given straightforward, great ideas to organise and use in the library.  Topics covered will include looking at how the library supports the National Curriculum, Reading for Pleasure, library information skills to help children make better use of the resources, setting up and running a book club and planning special events.  Delegates will leave with a wealth of ideas to put into practice and raise the profile of their school library.

The closing date is 13 November. Bookings received by 31 October are eligible for a £15 discount making the cost of the full days training just £90.00 (SLA members), £150.00 (non-members).  Additional discounts available for a second place delegate attending from the same school (accompanying a full paying individual) - see SLA website for details.
