Job Vacancies: Cedars Upper, Bedfordshire - SCHOOL LIBRARIAN

32.5 Hours per week

NJC Scale 4E points 25-28 £22,658 - £24,964 FTE

Term Time Only + 2 Weeks

September 2017 start

Cedars Upper is a popular and high-performing school of 1200 students.  We were graded as ‘good’ in all aspects by Ofsted in September 2013 and we are determined to now strive for ‘outstanding’.

Over the past two years we have invested over £2.5 million in new sporting, music, IT and vocational facilities.  We have excellent sporting facilities including a brand new full size 3Gpitch and an indoor climbing wall.

We are looking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic Librarian to work in our highly regarded and well developed Library.  Our school has a strong and vibrant reading culture, with regular author visits and celebrations for World Book Day.

The successful candidate will manage the full resources provided by the Library, supervise and support students in their learning, and provide a distinct service to the teaching and learning of the students.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator, have good ICT skills with excellent knowledge of library systems.  They will build on the excellent provision already in place and further develop the library into a thriving learning centre.

Further details of the post are available on request.  Please visit our website www.cedarsupper.org.uk/Librarian or email recruitment[at]cedarsupper.org.uk to get more of an idea of what the school has to offer and to download an information pack and application form.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.

The closing date for applications is 9.00am on Monday 10 July with interviews to take place later that week.

We operate a safer recruitment policy.
