Job Vacancies: City Heights Academy, Lambeth - Librarian

Closing date: Thursday 2nd June

Start date: ASAP/September 2016

We are seeking a qualified and experienced librarian who is able to ignite the imagination of students. You will be passionate about reading and have an excellent knowledge of books for young people. Your knowledge and enthusiasm for young people’s literature is equally important as experience and will be of great value in developing the library in the Academy.

You will have experience of working with all ages, ideally with those of secondary age. You will be able to quickly build a rapport with students as well as initiate ways to support young people in finding quality texts which reflect both student needs and reading competence. Facilities of the library will include ebooks. Your role will include working alongside class teachers to help find imaginative ways to share books with students.

Judged as good by Ofsted, the City Heights Academy staff body is comprised of inspirational teachers and excellent support staff, with a very high retention rate.

'An ethos where good teaching and behaviour can flourish' (Ofsted, May 2015)

City Heights E-ACT Academy opened in September 2013 as a newly established 11-18 secondary academy in Tulse Hill, Lambeth.

We are in a brand-new, superbly resourced building. City Heights is in an educational partnership with Dulwich College, part of the Windmill cluster of local schools and under the auspices of the E-ACT multi-academy trust.
