Job Vacancies: Forest School, East London - Librarian

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Forest School, a thriving diamond structured independent day school in East London. Located at the edge of 6,000 acres of ancient woodland, London's largest green and open space, Forest School has occupied the same grounds since 1834.

Unusually for London, our 50 acre grounds lie across two London boroughs. Our School is just 20 minutes from London Liverpool Street station direct from Snaresbrook, Central Line tube station, and is just a 25 minute drive from Canary Wharf.

We seek to appoint a qualified librarian to join our library team, primarily in the Secondary school. The post involves student supervision, issue and enquiry work, and organising events. The post is term time, plus two weeks.

The successful candidate will be a good team player, enthusiastic to use their skills to enhance young people’s education, and keen to participate in a programme of information skills training.

Willingness to integrate into the life of an extremely busy independent day school is required. Good IT skills are a prerequisite, as is a good knowledge of information sources, both online and hard copy. MCILIP status desirable. Registration candidates will be supported.
