New picture book award announced today

Esteemed publisher Klaus Flugge has today been honoured by having a new picture book award named after him, the Klaus Flugge Prize for the Most Exciting Newcomer to Picture Book Illustration. Klaus is the founder of Andersen Press which this year celebrates its fortieth anniversary and he is  a vocal supporter of libraries. In a recent interview with SLA reviews editor Joy Court, Klaus credited teachers and librarians for championing his books over the years and contributing to the success of Andersen Press. This new award definitely seems to be one to watch.
