Opening Doors: the School Library in a culturally diverse society: Ilford, Essex, 23 February 2017

DON'T MISS THE EARLY BOOKING DISCOUNT DEADLINE!

Our course Opening Doors: the School Library in a culturally diverse society, run by Alec Williams, will be held at Redbridge Central Library, Clements Road, Ilford, Essex on 23 February 2017.

This new SLA course looks at the recent pattern of population change, and examines the implications for resources, the library environment, promoting reading and information literacy. Delegates will consider the role of books in challenging perceptions, the growing need for resources for English language teaching and the case for specific activities to attract those from ethnic minorities into the library. They will leave with a plan for library development which ensures the library welcomes all students.

The closing date is 9 February 2017. Bookings received by 27 January 2017 are eligible for a £15 discount.

Key Audience: primary and secondary school library staff
