The SLA blog contains news about the SLA and topical information of general interest to our members. The blog has been running since 2004. An RSS 2.0 feed and information about how to subscribe to the blog are available.
Older blog posts are still available, though archived, on the website, but please check the date at the top of the post to make sure the offer or information is likely to be valid.
The special offer of 30% discount on purchases of 15 or more Narnia titles from Collins Educational will remain open, to schools only, beyond the original closing date of 16th December (see the special offer enclosed with the latest copy of The School Librarian).
The publishers promise to honour this offer at least until 30th January 2006, so if you want to capitalise on children's interest in the film of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, this is your opportunity to do so.
The School Library Association is a self-governing body and the policy and decision making body, elected by SLA members, is the Executive Committee. Members stand for three years, with the possibility of a further term after one year off the Committee.
We can now accept nominations for the ballot for new members of the Executive Committee to take place in the Spring. Nominations must reach the SLA office by 10th January 2006, and the term for those elected by the membership will be June 2006 to June 2009.
