Librarian and Literacy Leader (LLL)

Salary: TDET Band 6, point 17-20 (depending on experience)

£17,287 to £18,962 per annum (pro rata to £20,893 to £22,918 for a full-time equivalent post)

Term-time only, 30-37 hours per week (above salary calculated on a 37 hour week basis)

The LLL is responsible for the smooth running of the School Library;  acquiring, organising, managing and distributing library resources and ensuring that the library provision meets the needs of all its users. The LLL is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Library, leading Library initiatives throughout the school and managing a Student-Librarian team.

The LLL will also coordinate the Key Stage 3 Accelerated Reader scheme and support the students and staff in the success of this programme. They will be an integral part of the English Department’s design and delivery of literacy learning at Key Stage 3 and beyond. The LLL will coordinate the Literacy TA team and deliver Literacy support activities to students, both in and outside  timetabled lessons. The Librarian will work closely with the Head of Key Stage 3 English and report regularly to the Head of English.
