Super Sixes: The Sixth Form and the School Library
Sally Dring
Working with Sixth Form students offers one of the biggest challenges, but also one of the biggest opportunities for school librarians. Our 2006 publication, Sixth Sense: The Sixth Form and the LRC, was one of our most popular, and this is a completely new collection of case studies from those working with 16 to 18-year-old students.
Studies include helping students through the transition to Higher Education, supporting the Extended Project Qualification, targeting reading for pleasure with sixth formers, the importance of information literacy and academic honesty at this stage, working with sixth form pupil librarians, and e-resources for post-GCSE library users, as well as other excellent ways in which the school librarian can impact on the lives of our 16+ students.
