Series: SLA Voices · Level: Secondary

Teddington School holds a successful and high profile biennial book week. In 2012 the school worked with fifteen authors over the space of a week. Here librarian Rachel Bide, who masterminded the project, explains how she managed it all. The reasoning, planning and general organisation of the week are clearly explained. Ideas for the choice of authors, promotion and advertising, engaging with parents, timetabling and scheduling, finding suitable accommodation and book sales all receive a mention. If you're thinking of doing similar, even if on a smaller scale, do read this excellent account - many sample documents are also included to show it's done.

This book nicely complements the SLA's Guideline title Brilliant Books: Running a Successful School Library Book Event.
