On 16th July we were one of a number of organisations asking the nation to celebrate the proven power of reading and the benefits of reading together. 18 of us across the publishing and literacy, culture and education sectors collaborated to deliver a programme of activities to encourage everyone to read together, aiming to reach as many families and young people as possible.
As well as the activity highlighted in the schedule, each organisation will be hosting additional activity through their own channels throughout the day so make sure you check them all out.
Find out more about the day by downloading the schedule below, or have a look at more information, including who the ambassadors are here.
Join in by sharing your favourite books to read together, enjoy the schedule of activity from each of the organisations involved and remember to use #ReadingTogether on your posts! It's not too late to get involved!
This is the content we released which is still available; much of it was for one day only.

Download two booklists to keep you Reading Together. One is called “All Kinds of Families” which focuses on different families in literature and “Read Together” which are some of our favourite books which work with different ages – so if you’ve got children of different ages there are books which will work well for family reading.
