School Librarian of the Year Award 2019

Nominations for 2019

The School Librarian of the Year Award is the SLA's prestigious honour to recognise the excellent work that is carried out in school libraries every day, and to highlight the best practice of those whose work is outstanding.

Nominations for School Librarian of the Year 2019 are now open.

We are looking for librarians in primary or secondary schools who really enhance what their school offers to students. People who have a huge impact on learning and literacy, and ensure that the library lies at the heart of their school.

Let's give our best school librarians the recognition they deserve!

N.B. This year the Award is only open to school librarians in the UK or Ireland. In 2018 we accepted nominations from international schools as the criteria did not specifically forbid this. Given the need for our School Librarian of the Year to represent the profession and the SLA in the UK, and also given the existence of the IASL Award, and the need to make sure the process is fair to all, it was felt we needed to be more specific.

Nomination form and Guidelines

The Proposer should complete the Official Nomination Form and return it by email to the SLA office. Closing date for nominations for the 2019 School Librarian of the Year Award is 31st October 2018.
