Proudly sponsored by Accessit and taking place in Sheffield on 7th and 8th June, our theme for the 2024 SLA Weekend Course is Libraries Unleashed: Beyond the Shelves and we’re looking forward to welcoming delegates back in-person for an invigorating weekend that focuses on creating opportunities to unlock the full potential of school libraries, extending their reach into the wider curriculum and collaborating with others to successfully achieve this.

This time, we’ll be condensing the same amount of quality CPD into two days and giving you the opportunity to build your own individual programme. Take part in anything from one day of training to both days and the Conference Dinner – we want you to enjoy a conference that suits your interests and budget.

We're thrilled to launch booking with the news that Darren Chetty (UCL), Dr Andrew Cox (University of Sheffield), Frances Hardinge (author of Unraveller and winner of the Costa Book of the Year), Nicola Morgan, Patrick Ness (author of Different for Boys and two-time winner of the Carnegie Medal)  and Paul Register (including announcement of the Excelsior Award 2024) will be joining us at Mercure Sheffield St Pauls

UPDATE - View the final programme below. Now including Kiran Millward Hargrave, Sarah Hagger-Holt, Steve Anthony, Dean Atta, Candy Gourlay, Julian Sedgwick, Lisa Williamson, Liz Flanagan and many more!

Combined with our biggest exhibition space yet, interactive sessions and a city with much to offer, this is an event not to be missed!
