SLA Terms & Conditions

Publications

Thank you for purchasing our publications. In order to be eligible for a refund of a publication, you have to return the product within 30 calendar days of your purchase. The product must be in the same condition that you receive it and undamaged in any way.

After we receive your item, we will inspect it and process your refund. The money will be refunded to the original payment method you’ve used during the purchase. For credit card payments it may take 5 to 10 business days for a refund to show up on your credit card statement.

If the product is damaged in any way, or you have initiated the return after 30 calendar days have passed, you will not be eligible for a refund.

If anything is unclear or you have more questions feel free to contact us: [email protected].

Membership and Digital products or digital access items (excluding webinars)

Thank you for purchasing our digital products.

If you are not satisfied with the product that you have purchased from us, you are eligible for a full reimbursement within 14 calendar days of your purchase. After the 14-day period, you will no longer be eligible and won't be able to receive a refund. We encourage our customers to try the product (or service) in the first two weeks after their purchase to ensure it fits your needs.

If you have any additional questions or would like to request a refund, feel free to contact us: [email protected].

Webinars or Webinar Courses

Thank you for buying a webinar. Notice of cancellation must be in writing via email. To cancel via email, send the cancellation notice to: [email protected]

For attendees registered for individual webinars, there are two refund/cancellation options:

1. If you cancel and do not want a recording of the webinar post-event:

Notice of cancellation 5 business days prior to the webinar = 100% refund

Notice of cancellation 0-4 business days prior to the webinar = No refund

2. If you cancel for the live webinar and want a recording of the webinar sent to you post-event, no refund will be given.
For attendees registered for a webinar course the entirety of the course the above applies. For cancellations of a second part of a webinar course partial refunds (based on a prorated rate per webinar) will be provided, minus a £10.00 administrative fee.

Refund requests as a result of technical issues: If a technical failure at the attendee's home or workplace prevents access to the live webinar, the attendee will not be given a refund. It is the responsibility of the attendee to confirm system requirements and test their computers prior to the start of the webinar. If a technical failure is the fault of the service provider and the webinar is cancelled, a full refund will be provided.

3. For purchases of recorded webinars: no refund will be given.

In person training and weekend course

Delegates

Thank you for buying a training course. Notice of cancellation must be in writing via email sent to [email protected]. If the attendee wishes to cancel/postpone a course, the following policy will apply unless agreed by prior arrangement:

  • More than 4 weeks prior to the course start date:£35 administration charge is payable
  • 28 - 15 days prior to the course date: 50% fees are payable
  • 7 – 0 days prior to the course start date: 100% fees are payable

Alternatively, a candidate can be substituted up to 24 hours before the start of the training and 7 days for the weekend course. It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of the SLA to change the date, time, content and instructor/s. We reserve the right to cancel a course up to and including the date of the course. In the unfortunate event that a training course should be cancelled, we will endeavour to provide an alternative date. The SLA disclaim any further liability. If the alternative date is not suitable a full refund will be provided.

In the event that a payment is to be refunded, the SLA will endeavour to process all refunds as quickly as possible. Refunds can only be made to the card account or bank account from which the refundable payment was made. Unfortunately in the event of cancellation the SLA cannot accept responsibility for any incidental expenses incurred. The SLA reserves the right to alter the published programme and any information contained in it.

Exhibitors

Spaces are limited. All exhibitors are asked to contribute a prize to the Exhibitor Bingo draw. These prices are inclusive of an early bird booking discount. Bookings made after 20th December will have a late booking fee applied. Company information must be provided to the SLA before the end of February 2023. Failure to do so may see information omitted from delegate provisions but the company remains liable for the full fee. Cancellations will be charged at 50% of the full fee. Unfortunately in the event of cancellation of the Weekend Course due to unforeseen circumstances the SLA cannot accept responsibility for any incidental expenses incurred. The SLA reserves the right to alter the published programme and any information contained in it.

Donation Refund Policy

In the event that a donation is made to the SLA, a registered charity, via sla.org.uk as a result of fraud or misuse or in the event of accidental duplicate transactions, we will refund the donation amount electronically back to the same card that was used to make the original transaction, provided the request is made within 14 days of the transaction. Please contact us stating the details you gave when you made the donation and the date and time. If you become aware that your card has been used fraudulently, please contact your card provider. No other refunds will be given otherwise except in exceptional circumstances and will be entirely at the discretion of management.
