Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award 2024 Open For Entries

Date: 04 04 2024

The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award – one of the world’s foremost writing competitions for poets aged 11-17 – is open for entries until 31st July 2024. It’s FREE to enter, poems can be on any theme and must be forty lines or shorter.

Teachers can request a free class set of anthologies featuring the winning poems in the 2023 Award to inspire their students, plus posters for the classroom, by emailing [email protected].

You can also check out lots of writing prompts and tips from experienced teachers, or join our poet-teacher network, Cloud Chamber, to hear ideas and advice from other teachers.

On Young Poets Network, the free platform for poets aged 25 and under, their Reinventing Mythology challenge closes on 7 April, and they have just launched a new challenge all about listening to the sounds of nature.
