New SLA CEO

Date: 03 02 2025

As Chair of the School Library Association, it gives me a huge amount of pleasure and satisfaction to be able to announce Victoria Dilly as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Victoria is one of those rare things – a person with extensive experience of working both in school libraries and in the business and charity sectors (including Speakers Trust, National Literacy Trust, Libraries Connected and the Royal Horticultural Society!) She also has a great deal of passion, drive… and heart.

Myself and the other SLA trustees cast a wide net in our efforts to find the best candidate for the SLA and I firmly believe we have achieved that. I’m not a naturally positive or easily excitable person but I am very positive and very excited about the future of the SLA and our ability to serve and represent our members, as well as advocate for school libraries more generally. I am sure I speak for the SLA board as a whole when I say that we can’t wait to start working with Victoria and that we are very excited for what lies ahead for the SLA in 2025.
