The School Library Association would like to share that Paul Register has stepped down as Chair of Trustees.
Paul stepped into the role during a period of uncertainty, bringing with him over 20 years of experience working in school libraries. His calm and steady leadership helped guide the organisation through a crucial transition.
Most recently, Paul led the recruitment of our brilliant new CEO and supported the successful delivery of our 2025 Annual Conference.
Paul will remain on the Board of Trustees until the end of his current term in September 2025. We will now turn our focus towards establishing strong organisational governance that is equipped to guide the SLA confidently into its next chapter.
While we recruit, Sue Bastone has assumed the role of interim Chair, bringing her extensive experience and reliable leadership to the SLA during this period of transition.
Our recruitment pack is now live. If you would like to learn more about the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees you can find out more here.
