These specialised sessions focus on the core elements of school librarianship.
Our programme of on demand training is there when you want it. Choose from 1 hour webcasts to whole day online courses (like MOOCs) all of which can be completed at a time which suits you, and are written especially for the SLA. Browse your on demand training via our SLA Shop.
Member meet ups are a great way to extend your knowledge through online conversation with colleagues via Microsoft Teams. This session will be on a particular theme so everyone attends ready to share, listen and learn. These are driven by member demand, so if there's a topic you want to discuss let us know. See what's on via the events calendar.
An opportunity to experience training in person, network with colleagues and share best practice. We are developing new training opportunities and from academic year 2026, will deliver training in local branch regions every term. More information about our new opportunities will be coming soon. You can engage with SLA branch led training via your local network. Find out more here.
Our popular annual conference runs in June every year. In 2026, the conference will be held in Winchester, Hampshire where we will be looking at the theme of 'Changing Narratives'.
