Get involved in the #ReadWithPride social media relay

Date: 18 04 2024

#ReadWithPride is a social media photo relay on Twitter/X and Instagram designed to celebrate and promote great young adult LGBTQ+ literature during pride month.

The idea is that every school day in Pride Month (June), on their designated day, participating schools from across the UK will share a photo of a member(s) of their school (staff, pupils, or both) with a favourite LGBTQ+ fiction title for young people (using the #ReadWithPride hashtag) and tag the next school in the relay so that people can follow along. Last year, 46 schools participated.

Photos can be as involved or simple as you like! To check out previous years’ pictures, browse the round-up sways from 2023 and 2022 here.

If you would like to participate in the 2024 relay, please register by end of day on Friday 10th May. The form asks for a selection of books you’d be happy to feature (as many schools often want to showcase the same popular title, it's important to ensure a wide variety of titles and authors), and any dates that would be inconvenient for you to post.

Register here

Once you complete the form, you will receive your assigned title and date along with more detailed instructions w/c 20th May (in time to take your photo before Half Term if you are early in the relay).

If you have any further questions, please feel free to email Kate O’Connor (Assistant Librarian at Dulwich College) at [email protected] or click here.
