Children's Choice Voting is Now Open for the 2025 Information Book Award

Have you started your IBA Book Club sessions? Cast your pupils' votes for this year's Children's Choice winners.

Children's Choice voting is now officially open for the 2025 Information Book Award, giving pupils across the UK the chance to have their say on their favourite titles from this year's diverse and engaging shortlist. With 12 fantastic books spanning everything from burps to jellyfish, AI to physics, and Black history to philosophy, there's something on the shortlist to spark curiosity in every reader.

Our free Book Club resource packs are now available for download, packed with everything you need to engage your pupils, including information about each shortlisted title; materials to build excitement about your book club sessions; discussion prompts and lots of voting resources for the four Children's Choice categories!

The Information Book Award (IBA) is all about highlighting some of the best information books published during the previous year. Having had a close look at the books, an expert judging panel gets together to come to an agreement about the winners, based on a set of criteria that includes subject matter, design, organisation of information, language, accuracy and reliability.

As well as a panel of adult judges, children and young people are invited to vote for their winners in the Children's Choice categories. The results are always interesting to compare, and we love hearing directly from children and young people about the information books that have inspired, entertained and informed them the most.

Voting is open until Saturday 18th October 2025. Download your free resources and help your pupils cast their votes!

The information book award is sponsored by Hachette Children's Group and Peters, with funding for the IBA Book Club coming from the Authors Licensing and Collecting Society.
